DATA CAPTURER / DRIVER: MOBILE DCXR UNITS (EHLANZENI DISTRICT)

AQUITY Innovations NPC, in partnership with the National Department of Health, is inviting applications for the position of Data Capturer / Driver for the Global Fund TB Project. This critical health-logistics role will support Mobile and Movable DCXR (Digital Chest X-Ray) Units throughout the Ehlanzeni District in Mpumalanga. We are seeking two (2) versatile individuals who possess dual expertise in health data management and professional heavy-vehicle driving. This is a long-term contract opportunity aligned with the Global Fund’s strategic healthcare initiatives through 2028.

Role Purpose

The Data Capturer / Driver is a multi-functional role essential for the success of community TB screening outreach in Mpumalanga. You will be responsible for the safe transit of high-tech mobile medical units and the meticulous recording of screening data. This role bridges the gap between field operations and digital health reporting, ensuring that every community member screened in the Ehlanzeni District is correctly captured in national health information systems.


Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

1. Data Capturing & Reporting Integrity

  • Accurate Recording: Capture and report all data collected from TB screening activities within communities and health facilities.

  • Routine Reporting: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly data summaries to monitor project performance and patient outcomes.

  • Data Quality Control: Conduct monthly and quarterly data verification and “clean-up” to ensure reporting accuracy for the Global Fund and Department of Health.

  • Admin Support: Maintain organized filing systems and provide system-generated reports to sub-district and district offices.

2. Logistics & Vehicle Operations

  • Mobile Outreach: Drive Code 10 vehicles for community outreach, ensuring the safe transport of the Digital Chest X-Ray (DCXR) units.

  • Maintenance: Prepare the vehicle for daily activities, maintain an accurate vehicle logbook, and ensure compliance with all driving regulations.

  • Site Preparation: Set up and prepare mobile units for daily screening activities in various community locations.

3. Community Engagement & Mobilization

  • Social Mobilization: Conduct demand-creation activities to encourage community members to participate in TB screening.

  • Stakeholder Relations: Build strong relationships with local facility staff and community leaders to facilitate smooth outreach operations.

  • Customer Focus: Ensure a professional and patient-centered approach during all community interactions.


Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for one of the two vacancies in Ehlanzeni, candidates must meet the following:

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.

  • License: Valid South African Code 10 Driver’s License AND a Professional Driver Permit (PrDP/PDP).

  • Experience: * Minimum of two (2) years of experience in data capturing and reporting.

    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a professional driver.

  • Clinical Knowledge: Proven experience in recording and reporting TB and HIV data.

  • Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with health M&E systems such as TIER.net and/or DHIS is highly advantageous.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively within the district and work after-hours when required.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills in English and local languages (e.g., Siswati).

  • Reliability: A consistent record of punctuality and adherence to safety regulations.
