Job Description
The Courier role at Ampath is far more than delivering parcels—it is a responsibility grounded in precision, reliability, and service excellence. Serving as the essential connection between our laboratories, healthcare providers, and clients, you ensure that sensitive and time-critical materials are transported with the utmost care.
Your primary duty is the safe and timely transport of medical specimens, reports, and parcels using either a motorbike or company vehicle. Many of these items contain diagnostic information crucial for patient care, and your diligence ensures that laboratory results are delivered without delay.
Daily responsibilities include collecting specimens from hospitals, clinics, doctors’ offices, and partner facilities, then transporting them to the laboratory or designated drop-off points. You will follow strict protocols for specimen handling, packaging, and delivery to maintain integrity, prevent contamination, and protect patient confidentiality.
You will complete route sheets, maintain accurate delivery logs, and respond to urgent call-outs when specimens require rapid transport. Your ability to plan routes efficiently, adhere to traffic regulations, and remain calm under pressure is essential for consistent service excellence.

Grade 12 / Matric certificate

Valid South African driver’s licences: Code B and Code A

Minimum of one year of general driving experience
