Position Overview
Adendorff Machinery Mart is seeking a Counter Sales – Tools and Machinery professional for the Alberton branch. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, confident, and customer-focused, with a passion for sales, tools, and machinery.
The successful candidate will manage counter sales operations, maintain stock control, generate sales, supervise staff where required, and provide exceptional customer service, while following all branch procedures and contributing to the company’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Customer Service

Assist customers with inquiries and purchases of tools, spares, and machinery.

Generate sales to meet branch strategic growth targets.

Promote a positive image of the company through high-quality customer service.

Advise customers on products and technical specifications.
Stock Control and Administrative Duties

Maintain proper stock levels and manage inventory.

Conduct administrative tasks in line with branch procedures.

Ensure accurate record-keeping and stock reporting.

Oversee general housekeeping and organization of the branch.
Leadership and Operational Support

Provide guidance and support to junior staff where applicable.

Follow all instructions as per branch procedures and company policies.

Drive sales through exemplary leadership and professional conduct.

Participate in ongoing self-development and product knowledge training.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
-
Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.

Previous exposure to automotive, engineering, tools, machinery, or hardware retail.

Own reliable vehicle essential.

Strong customer service and sales skills.

Confident, honest, reliable, and able to work in a team environment.
Advantageous:

Technical knowledge in DIY tools or hardware.

Experience in retail branch procedures and staff supervision.
