Role Purpose

The Counter Sales position is the heartbeat of our Alberton branch. You will be responsible for driving sales generation to meet strategic growth goals while providing world-class customer care. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge and retail administrative skills, ensuring that every customer receives professional advice on our wide range of global equipment.

Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

1. Sales Generation & Strategic Growth

  • Revenue Drive: Actively maximize and drive sales by applying exemplary product knowledge and sales techniques.

  • Customer Care: Promote a positive company image through high-quality service, ensuring interactions are consistent and professional.

  • Target Achievement: Work toward reaching the branch’s strategic growth goals through proactive selling and upselling.

2. Operational & Stock Management

  • Stock Control: Maintain proper stock level control to ensure the branch is always ready to meet customer demand.

  • Branch Procedures: Follow all instructions as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain operational integrity.

  • Housekeeping: Ensure general housekeeping of the branch is kept to a high standard to reflect the brand’s quality.

3. Leadership & Administration

  • Supervisory Input: Utilize your staff supervisory experience to assist in the smooth running of the sales floor.

  • Admin Duties: Handle necessary administrative and managerial duties as required by the branch leadership.

  • Self-Development: Stay up to date with product knowledge and pursue personal growth within the organization’s training framework.

Requirements & Desired Skills

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Requirement: A Senior Certificate (Matric).

  • Industry Exposure: Preference will be given to individuals with previous exposure to the Automotive, Engineering, Tools and Machinery, or Hardware environments.

  • Technical Knowledge: Having technical knowledge in the DIY or Hardware environment is an absolute added advantage.

Core Competencies

  • Mobility: A valid driver’s license and own vehicle are essential for this role.

  • Reliability: You must be a reliable, honest, and confident individual.

  • Teamwork: The ability to function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Retail Skills: Experience in retail branch procedures and stock control systems.

Working Hours & Environment

  • Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 17:00

  • Saturdays: 08:00 – 13:00

  • Location: Alberton, Gauteng (Onsite).
