Role Purpose
The Counter Sales (2IC) position is a critical leadership-support role. You will be responsible for driving high-volume sales at the counter while acting as the primary support to the Branch Manager. This role requires a “lead by example” approach, where you maintain excellent customer service standards, oversee junior staff, and ensure that the Boksburg branch meets its strategic growth targets.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
1. Sales Leadership & Strategic Growth

Revenue Generation: Drive and maximize sales through expert product knowledge and persuasive selling techniques to reach branch financial goals.

Exemplary Leadership: Act as a role model for the sales team, demonstrating high-quality customer service and professional conduct.

Customer Care: Ensure all customer interactions align with Adendorff’s standards, promoting a positive and professional company image.
2. Operational Support & 2IC Duties

Supervisory Oversight: Utilize your staff supervisory experience to manage the sales floor and assist in administrative or managerial tasks as required.

Branch Procedures: Ensure strict adherence to all branch protocols, including opening/closing procedures and cash handling.

Stock Control: Assist in maintaining proper stock level controls to ensure product availability and minimize shrinkage.
3. Branch Maintenance & Professionalism

Housekeeping: Oversee general housekeeping to ensure the branch is clean, organized, and inviting for our diverse client base.

Self-Development: Commit to ongoing learning and product training to remain a technical specialist in tools and machinery.
Requirements & Desired Skills
Education & Experience
-
Minimum Requirement: A Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
-
Industry Exposure: Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in the Automotive, Engineering, Tools and Machinery, or Hardware environments.

Technical Savvy: Having technical knowledge in the DIY or Hardware environment is an absolute added advantage.

Mobility: A valid driver’s license and own vehicle are essential for this position.

Leadership Traits: Proven staff supervisory experience and the ability to function effectively as a team player.

Integrity: Must be a reliable, honest, and highly motivated individual.

Retail Skills: Familiarity with retail branch procedures and inventory management systems.
Working Hours & Environment

Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 17:00

Saturdays: 08:00 – 13:00

Location: Boksburg, Gauteng (Onsite).
