Frequently Asked Questions – Client Services Officer Jobs South Africa

What is a PathCare “supporter” in the context of this role? In PathCare’s terminology, a “supporter” is a referring clinician or healthcare facility — a doctor, specialist, hospital, clinic, or nursing home that refers patients to PathCare for diagnostic testing. Building, maintaining, and growing PathCare’s supporter base in Bloemfontein is the primary commercial objective of the Client Services Officer role.

What does a CPD event involve and how does the CSO contribute? CPD (Continuing Professional Development) events are accredited educational sessions for healthcare professionals — typically organised by the pathology company and featuring presentations by pathologists on clinically relevant diagnostic topics. The Client Services Officer is responsible for organising, coordinating, and driving these events — managing venue booking, invitations, catering, presenter scheduling, and post-event reporting — as a relationship-building and market retention tool.

What are PathCare’s IT platforms — PP3/V3 and Meditech? Meditech is PathCare’s laboratory information management system — used for test ordering, patient registration, result reporting, and billing. PP3/V3 refers to PathCare’s patient/practice portal systems — digital platforms through which referring clinicians can order tests, access results, and manage their patient diagnostic workflows electronically. The Client Services Officer trains and supports clinical practices in adopting and effectively using these systems.

What does QA knowledge including non-conformance/client feedback systems mean? Non-conformance management is a formal quality process in SANAS-accredited laboratories — where service failures, errors, or client complaints are documented, investigated, root-caused, and resolved through a structured corrective action process. The Client Services Officer’s QA knowledge enables them to engage credibly with accreditation-related client concerns and to contribute meaningfully to PathCare’s quality improvement processes.

Is this a field-based or office-based role? This is primarily a field-based role — the Client Services Officer is mobile across Bloemfontein and surrounding areas, visiting referring practices, hospitals, and healthcare facilities daily. The own vehicle and manual transmission Code B licence requirements reflect this field-based operational reality. Office time is required for report writing, planning, and internal meetings.
