An opportunity is available for 49 Client Service Officers specialising in Paymaster duties across multiple Labour Centres and Satellite Offices throughout the Eastern Cape. These are permanent government positions offering a salary of R269,499 per annum. About the Role

The Client Service Officer supports the Department of Employment and Labour in delivering Unemployment Insurance Fund services to the public. The successful candidates will process UIF benefit applications, provide screening services, register payment continuation forms, and carry out administrative functions at their designated Labour Centre or Satellite Office.

Key Responsibilities

The Client Service Officer will provide screening services to walk-in clients, process applications for UIF benefits accurately and efficiently, register payment continuation forms, and perform all related administrative functions in line with departmental policies, procedures, and Batho Pele Principles.

Required Knowledge

Candidates must have a working knowledge of the Unemployment Insurance Act and Regulations, the Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act, the Public Financial Management Act, the Protection of Personal Information Act, Treasury Regulations, UIF Vision, Mission and Values, and all relevant Departmental Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.

Required Skills

Strong interpersonal skills, telephone etiquette, interviewing ability, computer literacy, verbal and written communication, active listening, the ability to interpret the UI Act and Contributions Act, conflict management, time management, customer relations, and analytical skills are all required for this role.

Minimum Requirements

A Grade 12 or Senior Certificate is required. No experience is required.
