Position Overview
The East London branch is seeking a Cleaning Contract Manager to oversee hospital and healthcare cleaning operations, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, sector regulations, and service standards.
This role is ideal for a dynamic, results-driven professional with a strong background in hospital cleaning services, operational management, and team leadership. You will manage subordinate staff, maintain high service quality, control operational costs, and ensure client satisfaction in a highly sensitive and commercial environment.
The Cleaning Contract Manager will play a pivotal role in training, auditing, and industrial relations, while ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management

Oversee all subordinate staff and cleaning operations across hospital and healthcare contracts.

Ensure compliance with SLA standards, sector strategy, and statutory regulations.

Manage operational costs and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

Maintain environmental safety, adhering to HSE and client-specific policies.

Draft, extract, and analyse operational reports to inform decision-making.
Client & Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.

Proactively engage with clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned with expectations.

Monitor external contractors to ensure service quality and contractual compliance.
Team Leadership & Development

Lead, coach, and manage a high-performing team, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

Conduct staff training, performance assessments, and develop career growth plans.

Foster a professional and proactive work culture across operations.
Administration & Compliance

Maintain accurate records and reports for internal and client use.

Ensure compliance with South African labour laws, sector-specific regulations, and company policies.

Adapt to changing operational priorities while maintaining service standards.
Minimum Requirements
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in hospital or healthcare cleaning operations.

Proven experience in highly commercial and sensitive markets.

People management and team leadership experience.

Project management experience in cleaning operations (advantageous).

Computer literate – MS Office (Excel, Word).

Valid driver’s license and own vehicle preferred.

Strong knowledge of hospital cleaning standards, HSE, and industry regulations.
