The Cleaner: Supervisor role ensures that all buildings and shared environments meet rigorous hygiene standards, contributing directly to efficiency, staff well-being, and service delivery.

Position Overview

The Department of Defence is seeking two experienced Cleaner Supervisors to oversee cleaning operations across designated buildings within JSB Garrison. The successful candidates will manage teams, ensure hygienic facilities, coordinate supplies, enforce compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain high standards of cleanliness.

This role suits individuals with strong leadership abilities, attention to detail, and experience in large-scale cleaning operations.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning Operations Supervision

Oversee and supervise daily cleaning services across assigned facilities.
Conduct inspections to ensure all areas meet hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards.
Draft and implement cleaning schedules for multiple buildings.

Equipment & Inventory Control

Monitor availability, condition, and proper use of cleaning equipment.
Order, receive, store, and issue cleaning materials.
Maintain updated inventory records and ensure cost-effective usage.

Staff Management

Manage attendance, leave, and timekeeping for cleaning personnel.
Monitor staff discipline and ensure compliance with departmental policies.
Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management (PMDS) for team members.

Reporting & Administration

Compile detailed cleaning reports for management review.
Identify problem areas and communicate them promptly to senior officials.
Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requirements.

Minimum Requirements

ABET Level 4 or equivalent qualification
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a cleaning services environment

Core Competencies

Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and their correct application
Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
Ability to manage and lead a large cleaning team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Problem-solving and analytical abilities
Ability to work independently and uphold high cleaning standards
