About the Department
The South African Air Force (SAAF) Headquarters Unit provides administrative and operational support across Air Force divisions. The Cleaner plays a crucial role in maintaining hygiene and safety standards in offices, ablution facilities, and other workspaces, ensuring a clean and professional environment.
Position Overview
The Cleaner will perform essential cleaning and maintenance duties across assigned offices and facilities. Candidates must demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and the ability to operate basic cleaning equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing furniture and floors.
- Clean windows, ablution facilities, and communal areas.
- Operate basic cleaning machinery safely and efficiently.
- Maintain and report the condition of cleaning equipment.
- Follow supervisors’ instructions regarding cleaning schedules and tasks.
- Report any defects, hazards, or maintenance needs in the workplace.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Minimum Requirements
- ABET qualification or equivalent.
- No prior experience required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal).
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks efficiently.
- Reliability, honesty, and teamwork skills.
