These positions focus on supervising front-line civic services operations, ensuring efficient delivery of ID smart cards, birth, marriage, and death registration services, and maintaining compliance with departmental policies.
Successful candidates will oversee daily front-office operations, coach and guide staff, monitor service delivery quality, and manage resources to meet service standards and client expectations.

Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- Undergraduate qualification at NQF Level 6 in Public Management, Public Administration, Operations, Business Management, Management, Administration, Law, or Social Science recognised by SAQA.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 yearsβ experience in operations within client or customer services.
- Experience in civic or immigration operations is an added advantage.
- Drivers licence may be an added advantage.
Knowledge and Competencies:
- Front office operations and filing systems.
- Fingerprint verification and ID smart card processing.
- Civic Services Regulatory Framework and Public Service regulatory frameworks.
- Supply Chain Management processes and procedures.
- Human Resources frameworks and government structures.
- Customer service, analytical thinking, planning, problem-solving, financial administration, clerical skills, multi-tasking, and supervisory skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, attention to detail, time management, conflict resolution, and computer literacy.
- Patriotism, honesty, and integrity.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work extended hours as required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Supervision
- Facilitate effective administration of front-line offices.
- Ensure client enquiries are attended to and online verification is performed.
- Monitor live capture photo booths and quality assure ID smart card authorisation.
- Verify and validate client information, fingerprints, and supporting documents.
- Facilitate delivery and collection of applications and smart cards.
Governance and Compliance
- Implement security control processes and policies.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, departmental procedures, and SOPs.
- Ensure efficient and effective management of human, physical, and financial resources.
Staff Management and Development
- Coach and guide staff on compliance and operational tasks.
- Maintain high standards of service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Service Delivery Improvement
- Facilitate Birth, Marriage, Death (BMD) and ID smart card operations.
- Identify and address operational challenges and problematic areas in service delivery.
- Monitor front-office performance to ensure service standards are met.
