Position Overview

TWK Agri is seeking a Cashier for the Pongola, KwaZulu-Natal branch. The successful candidate will manage customer transactions efficiently and accurately, handle cash and card payments, maintain a clean and organized checkout area, and assist with general store duties including stocking, pricing, and conducting stock takes.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, customer-focused individual with strong numerical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Handling and Transactions

  • Process customer payments accurately using cash or card.

  • Count money in cash drawers at the start and end of shifts.

  • Issue correct receipts, refunds, credits, or change.

  • Maintain periodic balance sheets of transactions and amounts.

Customer Service and Retail Support

  • Greet customers professionally and provide assistance as needed.

  • Bag, box, wrap merchandise, and prepare packages for shipment.

  • Stock shelves, mark prices, and maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.

  • Assist with stock takes and inventory checks.

Operational Duties

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures for cash handling and retail operations.

  • Report any discrepancies or issues to management promptly.

  • Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth store operations.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate.

  • Computer literate.

  • Previous cashier or retail experience.

  • Ability to handle money accurately.

  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Advantageous:

  • Experience in a retail or agricultural store environment.

  • Knowledge of POS systems and stock control procedures.
