Position Overview

TWK Agri is seeking a Cashier for the Bethal, Mpumalanga branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately managing customer transactions, handling cash and card payments, greeting customers, and maintaining a clean checkout area. Additionally, the Cashier will assist with general store duties including stocking shelves, marking prices, and conducting stock takes.

This role is suited to a detail-oriented, reliable, and customer-focused individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Handling and Transactions

  • Process customer payments accurately using cash or card.

  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts.

  • Issue correct receipts, refunds, credits, or change.

  • Maintain periodic balance sheets of transactions and amounts.

Customer Service and Retail Support

  • Greet customers professionally and provide assistance when needed.

  • Bag, box, wrap merchandise, and prepare packages for shipment.

  • Stock shelves, mark prices, and maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.

  • Assist with stock takes and inventory checks.

Operational Duties

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures for cash handling and retail operations.

  • Report any discrepancies or issues to management promptly.

  • Support smooth store operations by collaborating with team members.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate.

  • Computer literate.

  • Previous cashier or retail experience.

  • Ability to handle money accurately.

  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Advantageous:

  • Experience in an agricultural or retail store environment.

  • Knowledge of POS systems and stock control procedures.
