Stock & Inventory: Assist with stocking, stock rotation, and basic inventory management to ensure the café is always fully prepared for service.
Food Preparation: Assist with simple food preparation tasks as required to support the full café offering.
Community Building: Create a calm, friendly, and welcoming café atmosphere that encourages social connection and makes students feel at home.
Customer Relationships: Build positive, professional relationships with regular student and guest customers — learning their preferences and delivering a personalised service experience.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates applying for the Barista position in Pietermaritzburg must meet the following minimum requirements:

National Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12) — essential.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Barista or in a café, coffee shop, or food service environment.
Proven experience preparing espresso-based beverages, specialty coffees, and teas to a high standard.
