Position Overview

Mr Price Group is seeking a capable and proactive Assistant Store Manager for Power Fashion in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo. The successful candidate will support and relieve the Store Manager, ensuring that company standards, operational excellence, and store targets are consistently maintained.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, results-oriented, and able to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

  • Relieve the Store Manager in their absence and support day-to-day store operations.

  • Ensure compliance with company standards for housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.

  • Oversee the cash office and ensure front-end controls are in place.

  • Manage banking of money and ensure accurate cash handling procedures.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Assist the Store Manager in supervising, training, and coaching staff.

  • Promote staff productivity and maintain high standards of performance.

  • Support recruitment, performance management, and staff development initiatives.

Sales and Customer Service

  • Introduce and drive sales initiatives to meet or exceed store targets.

  • Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained throughout the store.

  • Monitor stock management and minimize stock loss through proactive controls.

Administrative and Compliance Duties

  • Ensure compliance with all company procedures and operational policies.

  • Maintain accurate administrative records and support operational reporting.

  • Assist in planning and organizing daily store activities to optimize efficiency.


Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics advantageous) or NQF Level 4.

  • Previous experience managing a department or people in a retail environment.

  • Strong communication, administration, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and planning capabilities.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and ethical with high integrity.

Advantageous:

  • Previous experience in clothing retail.

  • Knowledge of stock control, merchandising, and shrinkage reduction.
