Main Purpose of the Job
The Armed Response Supervisor is a critical operational role focused on the strategic management and deployment of armed response vehicles. You will be responsible for the efficiency of your shift, ensuring that alarm activations are attended to promptly and that all officers adhere to tactical protocols. Beyond frontline response, you will supervise the day-to-day operational functioning of the shift to maintain the high service standards of the Fidelity ADT brand.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
1. Tactical Leadership & Shift Management

Deployment: Manage the real-time deployment of armed response units across the Vaal Marina sector to ensure optimal coverage and rapid response times.

Incident Oversight: Assist with and provide tactical support during high-risk alarm activations, emergency call-outs, and crime scenes.

Shift Operations: Ensure the smooth operational functioning of the shift, including vehicle inspections, equipment checks, and officer briefings.
2. Operational Compliance & Safety

SOP Adherence: Enforce strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and legislative requirements during all patrol and response activities.

Firearm Safety: Monitor and maintain the highest standards of firearm safety and ensure all shift members hold valid business-purpose competencies.

Reporting: Maintain accurate shift logs and incident reports for submission to the Operations Manager.
3. Team Supervision

Performance Monitoring: Evaluate officer performance and provide on-the-job coaching to ensure tactical excellence.

Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify potential security risks within the sector and adjust patrol patterns accordingly.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this entry-level supervisory role, candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria:

Education: Matric (Grade 12) certificate is essential.

PSIRA Registration: Must be currently registered with PSIRA at Grade B level with an Armed Response module.

Firearm Competency: A valid Firearm Competency for Business Purposes (Handgun/Shotgun/Rifle as required) is non-negotiable.

Licensing: A valid Driver’s License (held for at least 2 years).

Integrity: A completely clear Criminal Record is required.
Skills and Personal Attributes

Leadership: Strong ability to lead and motivate a team under high-pressure conditions.

Communication: Excellent verbal and radio communication skills.
