Job Summary

The Armed Response Officer is responsible for responding to alarm activations, conducting high-visibility patrols, and providing emergency assistance to residential estate clients. Operating in a high-stakes environment, you will be the first line of defense against criminal activity in the Bloemfontein area. This role requires extreme discipline, physical fitness, and the ability to operate effectively within the legal framework of the Firearms Control Act.

Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

1. Tactical Response & Incident Management

• Rapid Deployment: Respond immediately to alarm signals and emergency calls dispatched by the Fidelity ADT Control Room.

• Perimeter Checks: Conduct thorough inspections of client premises post-activation to ensure no security breaches have occurred.

• Emergency Support: Provide backup to fellow officers and coordinate with local law enforcement during high-pressure security incidents.

2. Estate & Residential Security

• Patrol Excellence: Maintain a high level of visibility through proactive patrolling within designated residential estates and neighborhoods.

• Client Engagement: Act as a professional brand ambassador for Fidelity ADT, offering safety advice and maintaining rapport with residents.

• Access Control Oversight: Monitor and respond to suspicious behavior or unauthorized access attempts in residential zones.

3. Compliance & Physical Readiness

• Firearm Standards: Maintain strict control and safe handling of your company-issued handgun, ensuring full compliance with Business Purpose regulations.

• Health & Fitness: Maintain the physical conditioning required for active duty, including the ability to perform tasks that involve heights or strenuous activity.

• Record Keeping: Ensure all incident reports are completed accurately and that the control room is updated on all sector activities.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role in Bloemfontein, candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria:

• Education: Matric (Grade 12) certificate is essential.

• PSIRA Registration: Must be currently PSIRA Grade B accredited and registered with the Armed Response module.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the security industry, specifically with estate or residential experience.

• Firearm Competency: Valid Firearm Competency for Handgun (Business Purposes) is non-negotiable.

• Licensing: Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

• Integrity: Completely clear criminal record; must be willing to undergo regular criminal background checks.
