Position Overview

The Area Manager will be responsible for managing all subordinate staff in integrated services, ensuring compliance with sector strategy, contract specifications, and statutory regulations. This includes managing operational costs, overseeing client services, providing operational support, conducting audits, managing training, and handling industrial relations matters within the designated area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational coordination of soft services, ensuring the standard of service from external contractors meets client and business requirements

  • Efficient SLA management and proactive client engagement to build long-term, profitable relationships

  • Effective people management to ensure a high-performing team

  • Managing environmental health and safety (HSE) in line with client and business strategy

  • Monitoring operational costs, implementing cost-saving measures where achievable

  • Drafting, extracting, and analyzing operational reports

  • Ensuring compliance with South African laws and industry-specific regulations

Minimum Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in cleaning and retail industry; healthcare experience advantageous

  • Experience in commercial and sensitive market environments

  • People management experience

  • Project management experience in cleaning services advantageous

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Computer literacy (MS Office – Excel, Word)

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of the cleaning sector and industry-specific laws

  • Proactive, professional, and detail-oriented

  • Strong customer service, management, and communication skills

  • Leadership, interpersonal, and administrative skills

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment, prioritize effectively, and work flexible hours when required
