The Department of Employment and Labour invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK: IES REF NO: HR4/4/5/11 (X2 POSTS) at the Pietermaritzburg Labour Centre.
The successful candidates will provide administrative and operational support to the Directorate, ensuring the efficient handling of documents, supporting supply chain processes, and assisting with human resource administrative tasks.

Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- Matric / Senior Certificate.
Knowledge and Competencies:
- Administrative procedures within an office environment.
- Filing systems and document retrieval processes.
- Operation of office equipment such as fax machines and photocopiers.
- Data capturing processes and systems.
Skills and Competencies:
- Planning and organising skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Assertiveness and professional conduct.
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Candidates must demonstrate attention to detail, organisational ability, and the capacity to manage multiple administrative tasks within a busy office environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support services to the Directorate.
- Assist with general office administration and coordination.
Document and File Management
- Control the movement of documents and files within the Directorate.
- Maintain accurate filing systems for proper document storage and retrieval.
Supply Chain Management Support
- Provide administrative assistance related to Supply Chain Management activities.
- Support procurement documentation processes within the Directorate.
Human Resource Administrative Support
- Assist with administrative support related to Human Resource services.
- Maintain HR-related records and documentation.
The Administrative Clerk will contribute to ensuring efficient office operations and effective administrative support within the Directorate.
Work Environment
The positions are based at:
- Pietermaritzburg Labour Centre
