Administration Clerks in production and procurement units provide essential support in clerical, logistical, and personnel processes, enabling smooth operations across bases and units.


Position Overview

The Administration Clerk: Production is responsible for executing high-quality clerical and administrative functions, including personnel leave management, data capturing, asset recording, procurement support, stock management, and report compilation. These roles are entry-level, ideal for candidates seeking to build experience in a structured defence environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Render general clerical support duties.

  • Capture personnel leave, Subsistence & Travel claims, and performance assessments.

  • Compile and maintain databases for skills development programmes.

  • Record, update, and maintain unit asset registers.

  • Attend to telephone enquiries and manage document filing systems.

  • Assist Provisioning Administration Officers with stock control, warehouse management, and stocktaking.

  • Preserve, store, and maintain military items; ensure safe disposal of surplus stores.

  • Maintain registers for stock received, issued, or outstanding.

  • Coordinate maintenance of stock with experts and update provisioning parameters.

  • Provide reports and statistics on operational readiness and resource management.

  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and security of stores and warehouses.


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.

  • No prior experience required.

  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Good organisational, planning, and interpersonal skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication.
