About the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI)

Position Overview
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI) is seeking to appoint ten (10) qualified and driven Admin Officers: Immovable Asset Register on a 12-month contract basis. These roles are available across multiple regional offices and at Head Office. The successful candidates will assist in maintaining, verifying, and updating the government’s Immovable Asset Register (IAR) to ensure data integrity and compliance with national property management standards.

Minimum Requirements
-
A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6) in one of the following:
Property Management, Real Estate, Town and Regional Planning, Accounting, Commerce, or related fields. -
Tertiary qualification with major subjects in Property Law, Asset Management, or Accounting will be considered.

Relevant experience in Property/Accounting/Immovable Asset Register Management.

Experience in State land administration and verification of immovable assets (land and buildings) will be advantageous.

A valid driver’s license.

Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Excellent decision-making, negotiation, and communication skills.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide general administrative support to the Deputy Director: Immovable Asset Register.

Assist in monitoring and implementing Immovable Asset Register projects.

Administer physical verification processes to confirm the existence and condition of immovable assets.

Ensure all improvements to state property are correctly identified and recorded in the IAR system.

Facilitate the vesting of land parcels and the endorsement of title deeds under DPWI custodianship.

Verify and reconcile documents from various institutions such as the Deeds Office, Surveyor-General, and Municipalities.

Conduct data analysis, prepare status reports, and maintain comprehensive records of property assets.

Perform any other administrative and asset management duties assigned by the Deputy Director.
