Position Overview
Fidelity Services Group is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its Finance Department at the Emalahleni (Witbank) branch. Reporting to the Regional Administration and Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with financial policies, accurate reporting, and contributing to the overall financial health of the Group.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong accounting, reporting, and SAP experience who can perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare and clear monthly bank reconciliations and submit to Head Office.
- Prepare, process, and review journals, accruals, and reversals.
- Assist with month-end close processes and MOS reviews.
- Scrutinise General Ledger (GL) accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Cost Control & Compliance
- Ensure all costs are captured in the correct accounting period.
- Ensure strict adherence to financial policies and procedures for audit purposes.
- Supervise and monitor cashbook, petty cash, and creditors functions.
Operational & Management Support
- Provide financial support and guidance to operational staff.
- Assist the Finance Manager with weekly and monthly reports to Head Office, including transport, payroll, claims, credit control, and price increases.
- Assist with accounts payable, reconciliations, and finance-related administrative queries when required.
Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (CA or Financial Degree advantageous).
- Minimum of 3–8 years’ accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proven experience in billing and financial reporting.
- Project management experience will be advantageous.
- SAP knowledge is essential.
- Experience within the security or service-related industry preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet strict reporting deadlines, and travel or work weekends when required.
