Position Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is inviting recent graduates to apply for the People & Culture Information Systems Graduate Programme based at Head Office in Midrand. This 1-year fixed-term contract offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in HR Information Systems (HRIS) while contributing to the digital evolution of Dis-Chem’s People & Culture function.
The successful candidate will assist in developing, testing, debugging, and deploying customised HR applications, ensuring smooth system functionality and supporting HR process improvements in a collaborative, agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Systems Support

Provide technical support for daily HRIS operations and troubleshoot issues timeously.

Assist with ongoing HR systems projects, including coding, debugging, and testing.

Contribute to the development and deployment of new system features and functionalities.

Document and maintain test cases for unit, integration, and regression testing.

Support the preparation of system design documents and process flow approvals.

Participate in research and innovation to enhance system performance and user experience.
Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to optimise HR processes through effective system usage.

Collaborate with HR and other departments to streamline workflows.

Keep up to date with evolving technologies to ensure system efficiency and scalability.
Compliance & Security

Ensure system compliance with data privacy laws and internal security standards.

Assist in monitoring and implementing data protection protocols.

Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive HR information.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
-
Matric / Senior Certificate.
-
Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

0 – 1 year’s experience with programming languages such as Java, C++, JavaScript, or Python.
Advantageous

Familiarity with React, Redux, Next.js, and version control systems (Git).

Knowledge of database design principles and object-oriented programming.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Exposure to full-stack web application development.
