Position Overview

The Food Service Aid is responsible for preparing, serving, and maintaining food and beverages, keeping dining areas clean, and assisting in kitchen operations during daily duties and special functions.

Candidates must be disciplined, able to work in shifts, and have good communication skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals, snacks, salads, drinks, and garnishes according to instructions.

  • Assist with receiving and storing rations and food supplies.

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining halls, and food storage areas.

  • Wash dirty dishes, clean equipment, and maintain hygiene standards.

  • Ensure dining tables are clean, set properly, and stocked with cutlery, serviettes, condiments, butter, and jams.

  • Fold serviettes and prepare dining areas for functions, conferences, and meetings.

  • Report losses, damages, or theft observed during duties.

  • Apply Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) measures in all work activities.

  • Work flexible hours when required, including after-hours functions.


Minimum Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • ABET qualification (minimum).

Experience & Skills:

  • No prior experience required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal).

  • Knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.

  • Ability to operate basic food and cleaning equipment.

  • Ability to perform routine tasks, work in shifts, and maintain high interpersonal relations.

  • Endurance, punctuality, integrity, and attention to detail.
