Position Overview

An established South African author is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Event and Book Promotional Agent to promote their training programmes, coaching services, and consulting solutions.

This part-time, remote independent contractor role offers R180 per hour for approximately 2 hours per day. The Promotional Agent will drive sales, expand client reach, and increase event attendance through creative marketing, relationship building, and lead generation activities across multiple channels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing and Promotion

  • Promote the author’s emotional intelligence training programmes, coaching services, and consulting offerings through digital platforms, email marketing, and social media.

  • Create and execute effective marketing campaigns to increase visibility and awareness of training events, courses, and publications.

  • Develop and maintain engaging online content that drives participation and ticket sales.

2. Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with corporate clients, schools, and individuals.

  • Build long-term relationships with decision-makers and key influencers in relevant industries.

  • Generate new leads through research, referrals, and digital networking.

  • Qualify leads, conduct follow-ups, and convert inquiries into confirmed sales opportunities.

3. Client Relationship Management

  • Provide exceptional customer service to new and existing clients.

  • Maintain ongoing communication to ensure repeat business and client retention.

  • Record and manage all client interactions, leads, and sales activities using organized tracking systems.

4. Event and Sales Support

  • Assist in ticket sales and event promotion, ensuring optimal participation and revenue generation.

  • Coordinate marketing activities around upcoming events, course launches, and special promotions.

  • Support online event registration and attendee communication when needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience in sales, marketing, or promotional roles (formal qualification not required).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Comfortable with social media, email marketing, and telephonic communication.
