Position Overview

Mr PriceCellular is seeking a driven and experienced Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager at its Acornhoek branch. The successful candidate will assist in managing daily store operations, ensuring sales growth, stock management, compliance, and exceptional customer service standards are maintained.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, proactive, and a strong leader, with a keen understanding of retail operations, cellular products, and customer experience management.


Key Responsibilities

Stock Management

  • Ensure stock is accurately received, unpacked, and merchandised to replenish the sales floor.

  • Monitor and manage stock levels through processes such as stock counts, stock takes, and loss prevention plans.

  • Maintain the stockroom in line with housekeeping and operational standards.

  • Assist with authorising write-offs, breakages, recalls, out-of-box failures (OBF), cellular repairs, and returns.

Sales Growth & Profitability

  • Analyse sales and profitability reports to identify operational improvements and increase performance.

  • Monitor product performance and provide feedback to the support centre to enhance sales strategies.

  • Identify opportunities for in-store marketing and brand awareness campaigns.

  • Drive performance across credit, insurance, mobile, and cellular offerings to meet budgeted targets.

Risk Management

  • Assist the Store Manager with compliance checks through defined processes such as admin audits, visual audits, POS reports, and health & safety inspections.

  • Ensure store compliance with policies, procedures, and risk management requirements.

Customer Experience Management

  • Implement customer experience processes including promotions, markdowns, visual merchandising, customer feedback, and housekeeping.

  • Ensure customer service standards are consistently met or exceeded.

Leadership & Development

  • Lead and motivate the store team to achieve KPIs and operational strategy in line with company values.

  • Identify training, coaching, and development needs to support talent management and succession planning.

  • Recruit, manage, and evaluate staff performance in line with company policies and procedures.


Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) or equivalent.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in retail; management experience is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of sales and service management.

  • Budgeting and financial awareness skills.

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Understanding of retail trade, cellular, mobile, new accounts, and insurance products.

Advantageous:

  • Prior leadership or management experience in a retail environment.

  • Experience in cellular or mobile product sales.
