Position Overview

BFM is seeking a Floor Manager to oversee floor management services at the ABSA client site in Bloemfontein, Free State. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, compliance with quality and safety standards, and excellent customer service.

This role requires a proactive, highly organised professional with strong leadership, operational, and client-facing skills.


Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Prepare meeting rooms according to client requirements.

  • Ensure adequate stationery and supplies in allocated meeting rooms.

  • Conduct daily floor walks for both visitor and office areas.

  • Monitor and report on space usage.

  • Audit pause areas, including printer stock and supplies.

  • Conduct visual inspections to maintain maintenance and cleaning standards.

  • Provide AV support in meeting rooms (excluding technical aspects).

  • Support TV/DSTV operations and channel management.

  • Track floor audits and manage hot desk locker allocations per client policy.

  • Complete daily checklists and maintain accurate records.

  • Perform random inspections and take corrective action as needed.

  • Communicate and manage outstanding work orders with key stakeholders.

Customer Relationships

  • Develop and maintain effective, proactive, and customer-focused relationships at all levels within the client organisation.

  • Ensure clear communication lines and collaboration with BFM customers on site.

Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)

  • Conduct weekly checks of first aid boxes as required.

  • Take operational action on exceptions to resolve health and safety issues.

  • Liaise with BFM technical and FM service managers to manage risks effectively.

Quality Standards

  • Implement mechanisms, processes, and procedures to monitor performance and maintain quality standards.

  • Ensure all operations comply with ISO 9001, OHS regulations, and client-specific standards.


Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Matric / Senior Certificate.

  • Qualification or certification in Facilities Management, Property Management, Project Management, Operations Management, or related field.

  • Valid South African driver’s licence.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in hospitality, customer-facing services, or facilities management.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and SAP.

  • Knowledge of OHS Act, ISO 9001, Risk Management, Property Law, and Contractual Law.

Advantageous:

  • General maintenance knowledge.

  • Experience in CRM, property management, and financial management.
