Position Overview

The Passenger Handling Agent – Reduced Mobility is responsible for the professional assistance of passengers requiring special care, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity throughout their travel journey. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of special passenger assistance, from check-in to boarding and from arrival to baggage reclaim.

This role is ideal for a compassionate, customer-focused individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, dedicated to creating positive travel experiences for passengers with reduced mobility or special needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist passengers with reduced mobility or special requirements during check-in, boarding, and disembarkation processes.

  • Coordinate with security, cabin crew, and ground staff to ensure smooth passenger assistance.

  • Provide wheelchair and escort services from check-in counters to boarding gates and vice versa.

  • Ensure all passenger handling procedures comply with Airlink’s safety and service standards.

  • Manage documentation and clearances for special assistance passengers.

  • Maintain professional, respectful communication with passengers, ensuring empathy and sensitivity.

  • Assist passengers upon arrival, guiding them through customs, baggage reclaim, and handover to designated contacts.

  • Report incidents or irregularities promptly to the supervisor or duty officer.

  • Ensure compliance with airport safety, security, and operational protocols at all times.


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in the airline or airport operations industry.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of aviation safety procedures and passenger service protocols.

  • Physically fit and able to assist passengers safely and efficiently.

  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and courteous under pressure.
