Key Responsibilities

Counter Sales & Customer Service

  • Serve customers at the sales counter with confidence, product knowledge, and a solutions-focused approach to spares, tools, and machinery
  • Identify customer needs quickly and accurately, recommending the most appropriate products from the branch’s extensive range
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of customer care in full accordance with Adendorff’s company standards
  • Promote a positive image of the brand through every customer interaction, whether in person, by phone, or via any other channel

Sales Generation & Growth

  • Drive counter sales performance to achieve and exceed strategic growth targets set by branch management

Stock Control & Inventory Management

  • Maintain proper stock level control at the counter and across relevant product categories

  • Identify fast-moving and slow-moving lines and communicate findings to the branch supervisor
  • Ensure stock is correctly displayed, labelled, and available for customer purchase at all times
  • Report any stock discrepancies, losses, or damages through the appropriate internal channels promptly

Administration & Branch Operations

  • Handle administrative and managerial duties associated with the counter sales function accurately and timeously
  • Follow all branch procedures and company policies without exception, including opening and closing protocols

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • Senior Certificate (Matric) — minimum requirement

Experience

  • Previous exposure to the automotive, engineering, tools and machinery, or hardware environment is strongly preferred
  • Experience in retail branch procedures is an added advantage
  • Some staff supervisory experience is beneficial

Licences

  • Own vehicle is essential — candidates without reliable personal transport will not be considered

Technical Skills
