Key Responsibilities
Counter Sales & Customer Service
- Serve customers at the sales counter with confidence, product knowledge, and a solutions-focused approach to spares, tools, and machinery
- Identify customer needs quickly and accurately, recommending the most appropriate products from the branch’s extensive range
- Deliver a consistently high standard of customer care in full accordance with Adendorff’s company standards
- Promote a positive image of the brand through every customer interaction, whether in person, by phone, or via any other channel
- Handle customer complaints and queries professionally, escalating where necessary to protect customer satisfaction and brand reputation
Sales Generation & Growth
- Drive counter sales performance to achieve and exceed strategic growth targets set by branch management
- Maximise sales opportunities through exemplary product knowledge, upselling, and cross-selling of related spares and accessories
- Lead by example in demonstrating the sales behaviours and standards expected of the wider branch team
- Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the customer base through outstanding service and proactive engagement
- Monitor sales performance and contribute ideas to branch leadership on how to improve results and customer conversion
Stock Control & Inventory Management
- Maintain proper stock level control at the counter and across relevant product categories
- Conduct regular stock checks and participate in formal stock takes to ensure inventory accuracy
- Identify fast-moving and slow-moving lines and communicate findings to the branch supervisor
- Ensure stock is correctly displayed, labelled, and available for customer purchase at all times
- Report any stock discrepancies, losses, or damages through the appropriate internal channels promptly
Administration & Branch Operations
- Handle administrative and managerial duties associated with the counter sales function accurately and timeously
- Follow all branch procedures and company policies without exception, including opening and closing protocols

Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Senior Certificate (Matric) — minimum requirement
Experience
- Previous exposure to the automotive, engineering, tools and machinery, or hardware environment is strongly preferred
- Experience in retail branch procedures is an added advantage
- Some staff supervisory experience is beneficial
Licences
- Own vehicle is essential — candidates without reliable personal transport will not be considered
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic retail administration software
