Key Responsibilities of a Dispensary Support Learner
Dispensary & Pharmaceutical Support
- Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines under pharmacist supervision.
- Assist with the compounding and preparation of non-sterile medication.
- Support pharmacists with medication packing, labelling, and dispensing activities.
- Ensure all medication is checked and approved by a pharmacist.
- Assist with script interpretation and pharmaceutical administration.
Stock Control & Merchandising
- Assist with unpacking and merchandising dispensary stock.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of dispensary shelves.
- Monitor medicine expiry dates and stock rotation.
- Report low stock levels and stock discrepancies to management.
- Receive stock according to company SOP procedures.
Patient Care & Customer Service
- Assist with patient enquiries and healthcare support.
- Follow up on patient appointments and script tracking reports.
- Support call centre script processing and patient calls.
- Promote healthcare awareness and patient education.
- Deliver professional and customer-focused service at all times.
Operational Compliance & Learning
- Learn and operate within SAPC legal requirements.

Minimum Requirements – Dispensary Support
Educational Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or Senior Certificate (essential)
- Pure Mathematics minimum 50% (essential)
- Life Science and/or Physical Science with minimum average of 50% (essential)
Experience:

- Retail FMCG or Dis-Chem front shop experience advantageous
