About the Role

The Despatch Supervisor is responsible for overseeing dispatch operations, vehicle tracking, delivery coordination, and compliance monitoring.

You will ensure that all goods leaving the facility are correctly recorded, inspected, and delivered on time. This includes supervising drivers, managing trip records, and ensuring full compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities of a Despatch Supervisor

Dispatch & Fleet Control

  • Monitor the position and movement of all vehicles
  • Record vehicle trips and fleet utilisation data
  • Manage dispatch schedules and operational flow
  • Track abnormal route occurrences and deviations

Delivery Coordination

  • Liaise with customers regarding stock levels and delivery times
  • Respond to queries related to collections and deliveries
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery execution

Documentation & Reporting

  • Record trip sheets, driver hours, and operational data
  • Maintain dispatch records and compliance documentation
  • Complete defect reports and incident records
  • Manage toll fees and transport documentation

Fleet & Maintenance Support

  • Liaise with service providers regarding vehicle maintenance

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure drivers and staff comply with company policies
  • Enforce PPE usage and safety procedures

Minimum Requirements – Despatch Supervisor

Education:

  • Diploma / Advanced Certificate in Logistics or Transport Management (advantageous)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in transport or logistics
  • Experience in dispatch, warehouse, or fleet operations (essential)

Licensing:

  • Valid Code 14 Driver’s License (essential)
