Purpose of the Job
The Tyre Coordinator is responsible for executing tyre maintenance, inspections, replacements, breakdown support, and stock control across a fleet of vehicles. The role ensures that all tyres meet safety standards, are correctly maintained, and are accurately recorded within the tyre management system.
This position requires frequent travel to operational sites and strong attention to detail in both technical and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities of a Tyre Coordinator
Tyre Surveys & Inspections
- Conduct tyre surveys across all allocated fleet vehicles
- Capture accurate data using the tyre management system (Intasect)
- Record tyre brand numbers, pressure readings, tread depth, and wheel positions
- Ensure monthly fleet inspections are completed
- Inspect spare wheels and report missing units
- Correct tyre pressures according to specifications
- Provide daily feedback on surveyed vehicles and issues identified
Tyre Maintenance & Replacement
- Identify worn, damaged, or punctured tyres
- Replace tyres according to SOPs and safety procedures
- Complete tyre change slips accurately and submit daily
- Ensure compliance with company tyre replacement standards
Tyre Rotations & Performance Control
- Perform tyre rotations based on tread matching guidelines
- Maintain accurate rotation records
- Ensure tyres are optimally positioned for performance and safety
Stock Control & Tyre Management
- Ensure tyre stock is secured and properly stored
- Assist with cycle counts and stock audits
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies
- Maintain accurate tyre inventory records
Breakdown Support
- Respond quickly to tyre-related breakdowns
- Ensure correct tyres are loaded before dispatch
- Follow all road safety and company driving procedures
- Complete breakdown reports and documentation
- Return damaged tyres to depot and record all actions
Equipment & Asset Control
- Secure and manage handheld devices (tablets)
- Conduct daily vehicle checklists
- Ensure vehicles and tools are properly secured after use
- Report defects, accidents, and damages immediately
- Maintain tool functionality and submit weekly tool checks
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all health and safety regulations at all times
- Use correct PPE during all tasks
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, POPIA, HR policies, and dress code
Housekeeping & General Duties
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace and vehicle
- Support additional operational requirements when needed
- Work weekends when required by operational demands
Minimum Requirements – Tyre Coordinator
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in heavy-duty tyre maintenance
