Position Overview
Job Title: General Worker
Location: Gqeberha / Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
Employment Type: Permanent
Division: BKB Wool & Mohair
BKB is seeking a reliable and proactive General Worker to join our shipping department. The role involves assisting with day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring smooth handling and transportation of wool bales, maintaining safety and production standards, and supporting the shipping team to meet operational targets.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with all functions in the shipping department to maintain efficient production levels.

Work with the Breekspan team for handling and relocating wool bales.
-
Offload outside bales from trucks as part of cross-hauling operations.
-
Pull bales from stacking areas and replace unused bales appropriately.

Maintain general housekeeping and a safe, orderly working environment.
-
Report any operational discrepancies or issues to the supervisor on site.

Perform ad hoc tasks or duties as requested by the supervisor or management.

Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth warehouse workflow.
Requirements
Essential:
-
Grade 10–12 certificate.
-
1–2 years’ experience in a wool warehouse or similar environment.

Physically fit to work on your feet for extended periods.

Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and industrial equipment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet operational targets.

Flexibility to work overtime and shifts as required.
