Frequently Asked Questions – General Worker Stacker Jobs Johannesburg

What is palletising and why does it require specific technique? Palletising is the process of stacking finished goods cases onto a pallet in a structured, stable pattern — typically following a specific stacking configuration (brick pattern, column stack, or pinwheel) that maximises pallet stability, prevents case damage, and ensures safe handling by forklift. Incorrect palletising leads to pallet collapses, product damage, and workplace injuries. The General Worker Stacker must apply the correct stacking pattern consistently throughout every shift.

What are finished goods tickets and why must they be accurate? A finished goods ticket is a production record attached to each completed pallet or batch — recording the product type, quantity, manufacturing date, shift, line number, and any other required traceability information. Accurate finished goods tickets enable the bakery to trace any quality issue back to a specific production batch — an essential food safety and recall management requirement in FMCG food production. The Stacker’s accurate ticket completion is therefore a direct food safety function.

Why is flour dust mentioned in the working conditions? Bread production generates flour dust throughout the bakery — including in the packing area where freshly baked products are handled. Prolonged exposure to flour dust without proper PPE can cause occupational respiratory conditions. Premier provides appropriate PPE (dust masks, workwear) as required by OHS Act compliance. Candidates with respiratory sensitivities should consider this working condition carefully before applying.

How does this General Worker Stacker role relate to the other Premier Aeroton posts? Aeroton Bakery currently has four simultaneous Premier posts on this site: General Worker Stacker (packing department, physical), Operator Divider (production line, machinery), Leave Reliever Production (multi-function relief), and Storeman Assistant (stores management). All are permanent and close in March 2026. Candidates with FMCG production or stores experience may apply for any post they qualify for — submitting separate applications per reference number.
