A Cleaner in the Cleaning Services division is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and professional presentation of government magistrate courts, regional courts, and associated office facilities. Key Duties & Responsibilities

🏢 General Building Cleaning

  • Empty and dispose of dustbins throughout all assigned areas regularly and as directed
  • Dust and polish wooden tables, desks, office furniture, and wooden fittings to a consistently high standard
  • Refill water bottles and dispensers with fresh water throughout the working day
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, doors, and walls inside and outside the building
  • Wash hard floors using appropriate cleaning materials, techniques, and equipment
  • Vacuum carpeted offices and soft floor surfaces using vacuum cleaning equipment
  • Ensure all assigned areas are clean, neat, and professionally presented at all times

🚻 Ablution & Toilet Cleaning

  • Conduct thorough deep cleaning of toilets and ablution facilities to full hygiene and sanitation standards
  • Refill toilet paper dispensers and handwashing soap dispensers regularly throughout each shift
  • Wash and disinfect toilet floors, surfaces, and all fixtures to prevent the spread of infection
  • Maintain ablution facilities in a consistently clean, stocked, and hygienic condition at all times

🍽️ Kitchen Cleaning & Hospitality Support

  • Wash kitchen floors and surfaces using appropriate cleaning materials and approved methods

🧴 Cleaning Equipment & Stock Management

  • Operate all assigned cleaning equipment safely and correctly including mops, buckets, vacuum cleaners, and floor machines
  • Handle all cleaning chemicals and hazardous cleaning materials safely in accordance with health and safety guidelines
  • Conduct regular stock counts of cleaning materials and supplies and report shortages to the supervisor
  • Store all cleaning equipment and materials correctly in designated storage areas after each use
  • Report faulty or damaged cleaning equipment to the supervisor without delay

Educational Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 9 or ABET Level 4 certificate or recognised equivalent qualification
