Purpose of the Role
The Cashier is responsible for administering and controlling all cash and card transactions at the NTK Retail Letsitele shop — processing paypoint sales, handling customer receipts and allocations, managing card transactions and back-office processing, and completing daily banking — with accuracy, speed, and excellent client service throughout.
Key Responsibilities – Cashier
Paypoint Sales & Transactions
- Process paypoint sales — handling all customer purchases through the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently.
- Transact all cash and card payments — receiving, verifying, and processing all accepted payment methods in accordance with NTK Retail’s policies and procedures.
Receipt Processing & Allocation
- Process receipts from customers and complete accurate allocations — ensuring all customer payments are correctly recorded and allocated in the back-office system.
- Process receipts from card customers and complete associated back-office tasks — managing card transaction records, reconciliations, and any required back-office administration.
Daily Banking
- Complete the daily banking of all cheques and cash — reconciling daily takings and ensuring all cash and cheque deposits are correctly processed and submitted in accordance with NTK Retail’s banking procedures.
Client Service
- Deliver excellent client service to NTK Retail’s farming and agricultural customer base — providing a fast, friendly, and accurate cashiering experience that reflects VKB Group’s service values.
- Handle customer queries and complaints at the point of sale with professionalism and effective conflict handling — escalating complex matters appropriately.
