Purpose of the Role
The End Controller is responsible for ensuring that service standards are met and customer issues are resolved through accurate checking of invoices — verifying that every item purchased corresponds with the customer’s receipt before it leaves the Drive Thru Yard, and reconciling transfer and delivery documentation against goods on supplier and delivery vehicles — to prevent stock losses and ensure operational accuracy.
Key Responsibilities – End Controller
Invoice, Cash Slip & Document Reconciliation
- Reconcile invoice/cash slip by counting and measuring goods in the customer’s vehicle — confirming that every item physically loaded matches what was paid for, and that no unauthorised goods leave the yard.
- Reconcile transfer slips by counting and measuring goods on transfer trucks — verifying all inter-branch and internal transfer transactions against their accompanying documentation.
- Reconcile delivery notes by counting and measuring goods on delivery trucks — confirming incoming supplier and customer delivery accuracy before accepting or releasing.
Error Reporting & Record Keeping
- Maintain the error report book for incorrect loading — accurately logging all discrepancies between documentation and actual goods at the point of verification.
- Maintain the vehicle register for all transfer trucks, delivery trucks, and supplier vehicles — recording all vehicle movements through the yard gate.
- Report all discrepancies to Management — escalating all verification failures, loading errors, and suspicious activity immediately.
Stock & Housekeeping
- Participate in perpetual stocktakes — contributing to the yard’s ongoing inventory accuracy.
- Ensure housekeeping of work area according to company standards — maintaining a clean, organised, and safe yard gate environment.
- Perform any work-related tasks as delegated by the superior.
Minimum Requirements – End Controller
Qualifications
