Purpose of the Role
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of the AFGRI retail store warehouse in Ogies. You will oversee all warehouse functions — including stock control, staff management, sales support, financial administration, and general operations — ensuring that the warehouse runs efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with AFGRI’s operational standards.

Key Performance Areas – AFGRI Warehouse Manager
Staff Development & People Management
- Supervise, motivate, and develop warehouse staff to ensure consistent performance and a productive team environment.
- Identify training and development needs within the warehouse team and implement on-the-job coaching and learning interventions.
- Build a positive, accountable team culture where staff take ownership of their responsibilities and deliver to required standards.

Stock Control & Inventory Management
- Oversee accurate receiving, storage, and dispatching of all agricultural products and retail merchandise in the warehouse.
- Implement and maintain effective stock control systems to ensure accurate inventory records at all times.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock against ERP system records, investigating and resolving all variances.
- Apply correct stock rotation principles (FIFO) to minimise product damage, expiry, and wastage across all product categories.
- Ensure all agricultural products are stored correctly and safely, in line with product specifications, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and manage stock loss, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures proactively.
Sales Support
- Support the retail store’s sales function by ensuring that stock is available, correctly located, and ready for customer purchase or dispatch at all times.
- Liaise with the store management team to align warehouse operations with sales planning, promotions, and seasonal demand cycles.
- Ensure efficient order fulfilment and timely preparation of customer orders for collection or delivery.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with the store sales team, contributing to overall store performance targets.
Finance & Cost Management
- Monitor and manage warehouse-related expenses in line with the approved budget.
- Ensure accurate capturing and reconciliation of all stock transactions, invoices, and financial records related to the warehouse function.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within warehouse operations without compromising service quality or compliance.
- Provide accurate financial and stock reporting to the Store Manager as required.
General Administration
- Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date warehouse administrative records including stock reports, delivery documentation, job cards, and variance reports.
- Ensure all warehouse documentation is filed correctly and accessible for audit and management review purposes.
- Manage POS and ERP system entries related to warehouse transactions accurately and timeously.
- Compile and submit regular operational and stock reports to the Store Manager and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure the warehouse environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health, safety, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Educational Qualifications

- Diploma in Logistics Management — advantageous
Work Experience
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a warehouse environment — essential
