The Department of Employment and Labour invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: GENDER, DISABILITY AND YOUTH REF NO HR4/26/03/01 HO based at Head Office in Pretoria.

The successful candidate will support the implementation of programmes that promote gender equality, youth empowerment, and the rights of persons with disabilities within the department.
The role focuses on coordinating development initiatives, monitoring implementation of Gender, Disability and Youth (GDY) programmes, and contributing to inclusive policy development.

Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- Qualification at NQF Level 6 recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) in one of the following fields:
- Gender Studies / Gender and Women Studies
- Disability Studies
- Human Rights
- International Development Studies
- Behavioural Economics
- Public Policy
- Political Studies
- Youth Studies
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Sociology
- Public Management
- Public Administration
- Human Resource Management
Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years functional experience working within Gender, Disability and Youth (GDY) programmes environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driverβs licence.

- Youth development and empowerment programmes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Policy and Strategy Development
- Provide inputs towards the development of policies, strategies, and guidelines that promote the mainstreaming, development, and empowerment of women, persons with disabilities, and youth.
Gender Equity Programmes
- Coordinate and implement Gender Equity and Women Empowerment programmes.
- Promote gender equality initiatives within the department.
Disability Mainstreaming
- Coordinate and implement programmes that promote the inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
- Support the development of disability mainstreaming strategies.
Youth Empowerment Programmes
- Coordinate and implement youth development and empowerment programmes.
- Promote youth participation and employment initiatives.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of Gender, Disability and Youth (GDY) programmes.
- Provide reports and recommendations to improve programme effectiveness.
The Assistant Director will play a key role in promoting inclusive development, equality, and empowerment initiatives within the department.
Work Environment
The position is based at:
- Head Office, Pretoria
