Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualification:

• ABET Level 2 or equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA.

Experience:

• Exposure to similar work environments will be an added advantage.

Knowledge and Competencies:

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to read and write.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and gardening principles.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance of equipment.
• Ability to operate basic gardening machinery.
• Good interpersonal relations.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to perform physical manual labour.
• Punctuality, productivity, and good customer service behaviour.
• Good communication skills.

Candidates must demonstrate reliability, discipline, and commitment to service delivery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

General Maintenance Support

• Perform general assistant duties.
• Maintain departmental premises and surroundings.
• Move furniture and equipment when required.

Cleaning and Waste Management

• Remove garbage and dispose of waste materials.
• Empty boxes and maintain clean work environments.

Stock and Logistics Support

• Assist in receiving stock and goods deliveries.
• Assist with loading and offloading goods and equipment.

Equipment Care

• Maintain and store gardening and cleaning equipment safely.
• Report damaged or lost equipment immediately.

The General Worker will assist in maintaining clean, safe, and functional working environments within departmental facilities.

Work Environment

Positions are based within:

• Vhembe East District
• Vhembe Central District
• Mopani District
