Afgri Grain Management is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Regional Manager to be based in the Western Cape. About the Role
The Regional Manager is accountable for the overall performance, safety, and profitability of grain storage facilities within the Western Cape region. The role involves strategic oversight of operations, ensuring that all silos and bunkers operate efficiently and comply with grading, fumigation, and industry regulations.
In addition to operational management, the position includes promoting company policies throughout the region and identifying new business opportunities to expand storage capacity utilisation.

Operational and Storage Management
The Regional Manager will oversee stock control of bulk grain and diverse bagged products, ensuring that intake and dispatch processes are monitored and aligned with industry standards.
Monitoring correct fumigation procedures during grain intake is critical to maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate must ensure that all grading and fumigation practices meet required certifications and legislative standards.
Capacity planning and bin allocation are central to maximising storage periods and ensuring effective utilisation of silos and bunkers. Efficient planning directly impacts profitability and operational sustainability.
Marketing and Business Development
A key performance area includes proactively marketing silo services and available storage capacity within the region. The Regional Manager must identify growth opportunities and implement strategies to expand business within the storage environment.
Managing niche market products and ensuring quality standards further strengthens regional competitiveness. Networking, negotiating, and maintaining a business- and customer-oriented mindset are vital to building long-term client relationships.
Identifying and implementing new business opportunities ensures continuous development within the region.
Financial and Asset Management
The Regional Manager is responsible for preparing and managing regional budgets while ensuring sound financial control. Oversight of fixed assets per silo or bunker supports asset longevity and operational efficiency.

Compliance with industry standards and legislative requirements is essential. The Regional Manager must ensure adherence to FRESH audit standards and conduct site audits to monitor grain intake, dispatch processes, cash handling, and sales activities.

Knowledge of compliance, risk management, and legislative frameworks is crucial in maintaining operational credibility and regulatory alignment.
People Leadership and Development
The role includes recruiting and appointing competent employees, managing performance standards, and identifying training and development needs within the region.

The Regional Manager must conduct internal training and awareness initiatives where required, ensuring employees remain informed about operational expectations and compliance standards.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Regional Manager – Western Cape position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Grade 12.
Qualified Grain Grader.
In possession of all grading and fumigating certificates.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Silo Manager.
Intermediate to Advanced MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
Strong compliance, risk, and legislative knowledge.
Technical and financial management skills.
Ability to conduct internal training and awareness programmes.
