Are you a reliable Code 8 Driver with a valid PDP looking for a stable, permanent job in Bellville? Brights Hardware, one of South Africa’s leading hardware retailers, is hiring a full-time Delivery Driver at our Boston branch. This is a permanent position ideal for a driver who takes pride in punctual, damage-free deliveries and great customer service.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for the safe, accurate, and on-time delivery of hardware and tools stock to customers and branches across the Western Cape. Your day-to-day will include completing daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and trip sheets, planning the most efficient delivery routes, ensuring all outgoing stock has correct documentation before loading, and delivering all stock in excellent condition. You’ll maintain your vehicle logbook, have transfer documents signed by receiving branches, report vehicle defects and delays to your Supervisor, supervise truck assistants during deliveries, and submit weekly evaluation reports.
What You Need to Apply
You’ll need a valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence (Code 10 or 14 is an advantage), a valid PDP for Goods and Passengers, and at least 1 year of driving experience. Matric is preferred but not essential — candidates with 3 or more years of driving experience will be considered without it. Strong time management, route planning, and communication skills are important, along with the ability to work under pressure and a good understanding of vehicle loading procedures.
