Warehouse Inventory Control and Stock Accuracy Role

About the Role

The primary purpose of the Cycle Counter role is to monitor and control inventory integrity within the warehouse environment. The position requires performing daily cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and supporting inventory control processes to ensure accurate stock levels.

The successful candidate will collaborate with inventory control teams to resolve stock issues, maintain accurate product identification, and assist with warehouse operations when required. Inventory Monitoring and Cycle Counting

The Cycle Counter must perform daily cycle counts to ensure stock levels align with inventory records.

Inventory integrity must be monitored continuously to prevent discrepancies and maintain operational accuracy.

Product identification, location, and lot code accuracy must be maintained to support traceability and efficient stock management.

Accurate counting processes contribute to improved warehouse efficiency and reliable inventory data.

Discrepancy Investigation and Reporting

Inventory discrepancies must be researched and analysed to determine root causes.

Overages, shortages, and damaged products must be reported promptly to support corrective action.

Collaboration with the Inventory Control Coordinator is required to resolve stock issues efficiently.

Effective reporting supports transparency and helps prevent recurring discrepancies.

Warehouse Operations and Support

The Cycle Counter may be required to open and pack containers to count items or weigh materials to determine quantity on hand.

Assistance with pulling orders for counter sales and despatch may be required based on operational needs.

General warehouse and stores duties must be supported when necessary to maintain workflow efficiency.

Participation in stock take activities ensures accurate inventory records and supports business planning.

Safety and Compliance

The Cycle Counter must adhere to warehouse safety standards and use appropriate protective clothing where required.

Knowledge of warehouse processes and safety procedures is essential to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Matric or equivalent qualification is required.

Recent experience with cycle counting and inventory control is mandatory.

Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a stores or warehouse environment is advantageous.

Good product knowledge and understanding of warehouse processes are required.

Knowledge of safety standards and protective clothing practices is expected.
