Bakery Despatch and Logistics Loading Role

Premier FMCG is recruiting a Loader to join its BRB Watloo Bakery in Gauteng. This permanent, onsite position forms part of the despatch department and focuses on ensuring the accurate and efficient loading and offloading of bread products for distribution.

The Loader plays a vital role in supporting the logistics process by preparing products for dispatch, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring stock rotation and loading procedures are followed correctly. This role is well suited to individuals with FMCG experience who are detail-oriented, team-focused, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced distribution environment.

About the Role

The Loader is responsible for loading bread products according to picking slips while following established pipeline loading sequences. The role ensures that trucks are loaded accurately, tray counts are balanced, and quality standards are maintained throughout the loading process.

The successful candidate must adhere to company procedures, participate in team communication sessions, and provide feedback on loading activities to management. This role requires attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the ability to work flexible hours aligned with operational demands.

Loading and Offloading Responsibilities

The Loader must ensure daily loading and offloading of bread products on site.

Bread must be loaded accurately according to picking slip instructions to ensure correct order fulfilment.

The pipeline loading sequence must be followed consistently to maintain operational efficiency.

Tray counts must be conducted accurately, with proper balancing of trays within delivery trucks to ensure safe transportation.

The role requires maintaining a steady workflow to support timely dispatch of deliveries.

Quality and Stock Rotation

The Loader must ensure that only quality bread products are loaded for distribution.

First-In-First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation principles must be applied to maintain product freshness and reduce waste.

Attention to detail is essential to prevent loading errors and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Any loading-related issues must be reported to management promptly to support corrective action and operational improvement.

Operational Compliance and Team Participation

Compliance with company policies and procedures is mandatory in all loading activities.

Participation in daily Invocom sessions is required to ensure effective communication and alignment with operational goals.

The Loader must demonstrate accountability and teamwork while supporting despatch operations.

The role includes providing feedback on loading processes to improve efficiency and address operational challenges.

Minimum Requirements

Working Conditions

The Loader may be required to work until the last truck has completed loading.

Weekend and public holiday work may be required depending on operational needs.

The role operates on a rotating shift basis.

The Loader may be required to relieve Despatch Clerks when necessary.
