About the Role

The Store Planner is responsible for ensuring accurate and effective stock distribution across stores to maximise sales performance. The role requires a strong foundation in commercial thinking and the ability to analyse store performance metrics to support strategic business decisions.

The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure that stock allocation aligns with seasonal strategies, replenishment cycles, and visual merchandising requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The Store Planner will ensure the accurate distribution of seasonal stock to optimise sales across stores.

The role includes ensuring optimal distribution of both seasonal and non-seasonal replenishment stock to support ongoing sales performance.

A key responsibility is delivering a location plan that allows for effective clustering of stores at the required product level.

The successful candidate will also deliver seasonal and non-seasonal replenishment profiles at the required product level to ensure stock availability aligns with demand patterns.

Inputs must be supplied to support the Seasonal Look for visual merchandising requirements.

Analysing store performance is a core function of this role. The Store Planner must provide accurate and timeous information to optimise business decision-making processes.

The role includes ensuring that new stores are stocked according to plan to support successful store openings.

Additionally, the Store Planner will assist stores in resolving any stock-related queries to maintain operational efficiency and sales performance.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ sound experience in store planning within a clothing retail environment is essential.

The following additional experience will be advantageous:

Previous store management experience.

Exposure to general logistics and supply chain processes.

Experience working in planning systems such as Location Planning, JDA Allocation Planning, and/or Just Enough.

Experience in Outerwear.

A working knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages, including Word and Excel, is essential.

Advanced level Excel skills will be a definite advantage.

Minimum Qualifications

Grade 12 Certificate/Matric is essential.

A National Diploma or Degree in Business, Retail Management, Accounting, or Finance would be beneficial.
