12-Month NQF Level 4 Gaming Operations Learnership for Unemployed Youth
Carnival City, trading as Afrisun Gauteng and forming part of Sun International, is offering a 12-month Gaming Operations Learnership (NQF Level 4) in Brakpan, Gauteng. This accredited programme is aimed at unemployed youth and forms part of Carnival City’s commitment to South Africa’s national skills development agenda.
Through structured training, workplace coaching, and practical exposure, this learnership provides participants with the opportunity to obtain a National Certificate in Gaming Operations (NQF Level 4). The programme is designed to enhance employment prospects within the gaming industry by equipping learners with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
A total of 10 positions are available under this temporary learnership opportunity.
About the Programme
Carnival City is committed to the development of unemployed individuals through talent development initiatives such as bursaries, dealer school, internships, and learnership programmes. The Gaming Operations Learnership is a structured programme that combines classroom-based learning with hands-on workplace experience within the gaming environment.
The National Certificate in Gaming Operations Learnership provides unemployed individuals with a recognised qualification at NQF Level 4. This qualification increases participants’ chances of securing employment within the gaming industry upon successful completion of the programme.
Candidates will undergo a series of assessments before being appointed to the programme. Successful learners will be required to commit fully to the 12-month duration of the learnership.
Throughout the programme, learners will receive a monthly stipend. Carnival City will host the candidates and provide structured workplace coaching and supervision.
At the conclusion of the programme, learners will have gained valuable practical exposure within the gaming industry, improving their employability and readiness for future opportunities.
Qualifying Criteria
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification is required.
Candidates must have achieved the following minimum academic results:
50% in English.
60% in Mathematical Literacy or 50% in Mathematics.
Applicants must reside within the City of Ekurhuleni.
Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 30 years.
Applicants must have no criminal record.
Candidates must be South African citizens.
Applicants must not have previously participated in a learnership programme.
Work Conditions and Special Requirements
Learners must be willing to work in a smoking area.
Learners must be willing to work shifts.
The gaming environment operates on a shift-based system and may require flexibility in working hours. Candidates must be prepared to comply with operational requirements and workplace standards.
