AFGRI Equipment is seeking a Workshop Clerk to be based in Winterton, KwaZulu-Natal. This permanent position offers an opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented individual to support workshop operations through effective administration and communication.

The successful candidate will assist with workshop administration, general office duties, and client communication to ensure smooth daily operations within the workshop environment.

This role is ideal for someone with basic workshop administration knowledge, strong computer literacy, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced agricultural equipment setting.

About the Role

The Workshop Clerk will support the operational efficiency of the workshop by handling administrative tasks related to job cards, invoicing, vendor orders, and compliance documentation.

This position plays a key support function within AFGRI Equipment, ensuring that workshop processes are properly documented, financial transactions are processed accurately, and client communication is handled professionally.

Attention to detail, organisation, and strong interpersonal skills are essential to ensure that all documentation, records, and communications are handled efficiently.

Key Performance Areas

Workshop Administration

The successful candidate will create job cards accurately and ensure all required information is captured correctly.

The role includes creating pro-forma invoices linked to job cards and ensuring that all relevant documentation aligns with workshop activities.

The Workshop Clerk will create orders for external vendors linked to job cards, ensuring that required parts and maintenance items are processed timeously.

Financial and Daily Administration

The position includes performing daily bank deposits as required.

The Workshop Clerk will assist with additional administrative duties where required to support workshop operations.

Accuracy in financial documentation and compliance with company procedures is essential.

Compliance and Risk Management

The successful candidate will ensure that the risk file (GMR) is kept up to date and that all required forms are properly signed off.

Maintaining accurate documentation is critical to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Client Relations and Communication

The Workshop Clerk will build and maintain sound relationships with both internal and external clients.

Promptly responding to and resolving client queries is a key responsibility of this role.

Professional communication and customer service are essential to maintaining positive working relationships and supporting the overall reputation of AFGRI Equipment.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 is required.

A minimum of 12 months’ relevant experience is required.

Candidates must demonstrate basic knowledge of workshop administration processes.

Technical Knowledge and Competencies

Basic knowledge of workshop administration.

Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office.

Understanding of parts and maintenance items to be ordered.

Behavioural Competencies

Accuracy and strong attention to detail.

Ability to manage stress in a busy workshop environment.

Good interpersonal skills.

Disciplined and organised approach to work.

Cooperative and able to work as part of a team.

Result orientated.

Fluency in English and Afrikaans is required.
