Animal Health Sales Opportunity in Agricultural Retail – Free State

AFGRI Retail is seeking a qualified and experienced Specialist Clerk Sales: Animal Health (Retail) to be based in Bethlehem, Free State. This permanent position offers an opportunity for an experienced animal health professional to play a key role in marketing and selling AFGRI Retail’s animal health product range.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective marketing and sales of the full animal health product portfolio while maintaining strong customer relationships and delivering excellent service within the retail environment.

This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in animal health, agricultural retail, and product sales who is confident in both customer engagement and financial accountability.

About the Role

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the effective marketing and sales of AFGRI Retail’s animal health product range.

The Specialist Clerk Sales will support customers by providing expert product knowledge, identifying business opportunities, and driving sales performance within the animal health category.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of animal health products, a deep understanding of customer needs within the agricultural sector, and the ability to maintain high standards of service and professionalism.

Key Performance Areas

Sales of Animal Health Products and Services

The successful candidate will drive sales of animal health products and related services within the retail environment.

This includes engaging with customers, understanding their requirements, recommending suitable products, and ensuring effective follow-through on all sales activities.

Maintaining strong relationships with customers and ensuring repeat business is essential to achieving sales targets.

Financial Management

The Specialist Clerk Sales will contribute to financial performance by ensuring sales targets are achieved and stock is managed effectively.

This includes understanding product margins, analysing business opportunities, and contributing to overall retail profitability within the animal health category.

General Responsibilities

The role includes supporting overall store operations, maintaining professional standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

The Specialist Clerk Sales will contribute to maintaining a customer-focused retail environment while supporting team objectives and store performance.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 is required.

An Animal Health qualification or AVCASA certification is required.

A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience is required.

Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge of animal health products and agricultural retail operations.
