About the Role

The Receiving Clerk carries out defined repetitive clerical duties related to stock receipts, returns, and general store functions.

This role is essential in ensuring that stock entering and leaving the retail environment is properly recorded, controlled, and managed in line with company procedures. Accuracy, service orientation, and attention to detail are critical in maintaining stock integrity and supporting smooth store operations.

The position also requires interaction with clients and internal teams, ensuring that service standards are upheld at all times.

Key Responsibilities

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing all receipts and returns of stock in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Stock control forms a central part of the role, requiring accurate recording, monitoring, and verification of stock movements.

The position includes assisting with other store- and floor-related functions as required to support operational efficiency.

Client service is a key component of the role, ensuring customers are assisted in a professional and helpful manner.

The Receiving Clerk may also be required to act as a substitute cashier when necessary, ensuring continuity of operations during busy periods or staff shortages.

All tasks must be performed with precision and in alignment with VKB’s operational standards.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 is required.

Experience within the agricultural industry will be advantageous.

The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to constantly adding value to the current functions of the job.

Strong numeracy skills are required to manage stock control functions accurately.
