Tiger Brands is recruiting an experienced Operations Quality Analyst for a full-time, onsite position based in Boksburg, Gauteng. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the manufacturing process, driving adherence to specifications, managing non-conformances, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding product standards, supporting the Quality Management System (QMS), and ensuring compliance with process, finished goods, and packaging specifications. This opportunity is ideal for a quality professional with experience in food manufacturing, measurement and testing, or quality systems management.

About the Role

The Operations Quality Analyst ensures that manufacturing operations consistently meet product and packaging specifications. The role acts as custodian of manufacturing, process, and finished product specifications and ensures strict compliance across all quality standards.

The position supports the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role also manages marketplace feedback, non-conformance processes, corrective and preventative actions, and sensory analysis within the manufacturing environment.

This is a technical quality role requiring strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and sound knowledge of quality systems within FMCG manufacturing.

Quality Roles and Responsibilities

The Operations Quality Analyst ensures adherence to specifications for process, finished goods, and packaging.

The role acts as custodian of manufacturing and finished product specifications, ensuring compliance across the production lifecycle.

Sensory analysis is driven and monitored to ensure product consistency and quality.

Compliance with process, packaging, and product specifications is continuously monitored and enforced.

Retention samples and end-of-shelf-life management are overseen to ensure quality compliance.

Handling of Marketplace Feedback

The role is responsible for handling marketplace feedback, including consumer complaints, customer feedback, and incident management.

The Operations Quality Analyst maintains the marketplace feedback register and ensures all entries are recorded accurately.

Investigations are led into quality incidents, with lessons learned documented and corrective and preventative actions developed.

The role liaises with consumer services to ensure appropriate resolution of feedback and complaints.

Corrective and preventative actions are implemented and monitored to prevent recurrence of quality issues.

Handling of Non-Conformances

The Operations Quality Analyst manages the non-conformance process, including registering deviations and supporting product status decision-making.

Problem-solving and root cause analysis activities are facilitated to address quality deviations effectively.

Corrective actions are implemented and tracked to ensure resolution.

The role supports a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing quality environment.

Continuous Improvement and QMS Enablement

The role drives continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

Support is provided for innovation initiatives by ensuring quality standards are embedded in new processes and products.

The Operations Quality Analyst enables and strengthens the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance and performance monitoring.

Continuous improvement tools are applied to enhance process performance and quality consistency.

Minimum Qualifications

A Diploma in Natural Sciences is required, including one of the following fields:

  • Food Technology

  • Biochemistry

  • Chemistry

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Microbiology

A TQM qualification or B.Tech degree would be advantageous.

Sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.

Minimum Experience Required

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in measurement and testing or Quality Management Systems (QMS) is required.

Category knowledge within a manufacturing or FMCG environment is required.

Strong communication skills are essential.

Familiarity with continuous improvement tools is required.
